The Queen's Young Leaders Award aims to recognize exceptional people aged 18-29, who are taking the lead in their communities and using their skills to transform lives. Winners of this prestigious Award will receive a unique package of training, mentoring and networking, including a one-week residential programme in the UK during which they will collect their Award from Her Majesty The Queen. With this support, Award winners will be expected to continue and develop the amazing work they are already doing in their communities.
I am so honored to be part of this program. All of the winners undo a leadership training from now (January 2015) till June (2015) before heading over to the UK to receive our awards in London.
Additionally I made it as number 18 on the buzz feed 28 Bad Ass youth list. This just keeps getting better.
I applied for this award through the group I formed last year, June 2014, by the name of ACT Advocacy  The group aims at using creative arts to address social issues in the community. Our target is to conduct theater training with youth in our community and to conduct workshops with youth in rural communities, helping them use creative arts to talk about the social issues they are faced with.
